Mr. Roan is Chief of Staff for SEIU Local 73, where he advises the executive leadership team that represents 30,000 workers in Illinois and Indiana. Local 73 represents service, clerical, technical and professional workers primarily in the public sector in Illinois and Indiana who are employed in state government, local government, school districts, publicly funded social service agencies and colleges and universities. Previously, Mr. Roan worked for over a decade in Local 73’s legal department as counsel and general counsel, where he oversaw the comprehensive legal strategy of the union and handled hundreds of cases before arbitrators, in court, and before labor boards and other administrative bodies. Mr. Roan is a 2008 graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law, and a 2005 graduate of the University of Illinois at Springfield.
