Peter R. Meyers was born and raised in the City of Chicago and attended the Chicago Public Schools.  He received a B.A. with Distinction from the University of Michigan, as well as an M.A. from Northwestern University and a J.D. from the Northwestern University School of Law.

Mr. Meyers has been practicing law in the City of Chicago since 1974 and began his arbitration practice in 1978.  He currently arbitrates and mediates throughout the United States in both the public and private sectors.  He has served as Arbitrator and Mediator in numerous interest arbitration matters and is currently listed on the interest arbitration panels of the state of Illinois. 

Mr. Meyers was elected to serve as Alderman of the City of Evanston, Illinois, from 1975 to 1979.  He is a member of the National Academy of Arbitrators and is a Distinguished Fellow in the International Academy of Mediators.  In 2005, he was elected as a Fellow to the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.  Mr. Meyers continues to serve on the American Bar Association’s Section of Labor and Employment Law, State and Local Government Bargaining and Employment Law Committee and served as its Neutral Chairman for several years.
