LAURA M. ALBORNOZ is the Acting Director, Office of Regional Operations and the Regional Director and Chief Administrative Judge of the Dallas Regional Office, U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) in Dallas, Texas. She previously served as the Chief Administrative Judge of the MSPB’s Denver Field Office from November 2009 to November 2013. Director Albornoz began her career at the MSPB as an Administrative Judge in the Western Regional Office, San Francisco, California, in June 1992. Prior to joining MSPB, she was an Assistant District Attorney in Nueces County, Texas. She also served as Law Clerk to U.S. Magistrate Judge Eduardo E. de Ases in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Director Albornoz is a native of Corpus Christi, Texas. She is a graduate of Stanford University in Stanford, California, and the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas.
