Dr. John D. Johnson is Senior Risk Manager for a large manufacturer. He was recently Advisory Senior Manager for Cyber Risk Services at Deloitte. John is Founder/President of Docent Institute, a charity focused on education and STEM. John was recently CTO of RIG & previously security architect at John Deere for 18 years. He is a founding board member of the Security Advisor Alliance, Ohio Cyber Women, Mass Cyber Corp & Cyber Education Foundation, a member of SC Media Editorial Board and advisory board member with MedBlox.

John has 30+ years of information technology experience & 15+ years as a college professor. As Security Architect for John Deere he managed infrastructure and developed strategy and secure architecture solutions for protecting a global corporate network, endpoints, industrial systems and the supply chain. His experience spans the public and private sectors, as well as industry verticals: technology, manufacturing, finance, energy, healthcare, education. John started his career as network security manager for the Theoretical Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory and an experimental nuclear physicist developing systems for nuclear remediation and non-proliferation.

John has developed and taught numerous graduate cybersecurity courses and helped develop the CISO executive certificate program with University of Chicago, Booth School of Management. He is a security blogger & frequent speaker at industry conferences and has served as program committee member for RSA Conference, Black Hat & InfowarCon. John is founder of CornCon. Over his career, he has served in leadership roles in professional societies, including IEEE, InfraGard and (ISC)2. John is an IEEE Senior Member, Charter Member/FAIR Institute, Distinguished Fellow/Ponemon Institute. John is passionate about educating kids about cybersecurity and online privacy & safety.
