Carlos S. Arevalo
Mr. Arévalo is a partner of SmithAmundsen, LLC with over 20 years of experience. He represents public and private sector clients ranging from municipalities to closely-held corporations in the areas of labor and employment and local government law. Mr. Arévalo advocates for his clients in court at the state and federal level and in administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies. Additionally, he has represented public sector entities as corporate counsel in the areas of governance, statutory compliance, transactional as well as in collective bargaining and other general employment matters. He serves as special counsel for several municipalities in Northern Illinois. Mr. Arévalo is active in leadership for the Illinois State Bar Association Local Government Law Section Council. He sits on the board of director for the Friends of the McHenry County College Foundation, the Regional Board of MercyHealth System and is Past President of the Stateline SHRM. Mr. Arévalo serves in the Legislative Committee for the IPELRA and is a member of the Leadership Greater McHenry County Class of 2013. Mr. Arévalo frequently speaks on labor and employment issues at the state and local level. Mr. Arévalo received his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law and his B.A. from Boston College.
