Panel III: Redressing Legal Wrongs
This panel will discuss redressing legal wrongs associated with CRISPR, IVF, and other assistive reproductive technologies. Major topics covered will be the ability of parents to sue for wrongful birth in cases where donated sperm caused severe genetic conditions, the Non-Identity Problem as it relates to the rejection of wrongful life claims and issues surrounding legal standing, and statute of limitations and causation issues related to multi-generational injuries due to gene editing.
